Threatening The Shave

To shave or not to shave my naturally curly hair

Bearing in mind that I had the most enormous struggle to grow out my naturally curly hair, from shaved back and sides, in my teenage years — I am completely confused by my frequent and unrelenting urge to shave my hair.

I don’t mean a cute little curly pixie cut — I mean a buzz cut.

After spending over eighteen months growing out my natural greys, I can admit that I eventually conceded defeat and started dyeing it again.

So, I’m back on the treadmill of dyeing my hair every four to six weeks, which is exhausting and pretty pointless, because by the latter part of those timeframes I have considerable evidence of bright ‘salt & pepper’ roots in my otherwise dark brown hairline that gives the game away.

Admittedly, I dislike the growing out stage — both of them. The growing out of short hair, and the growing out of the greys. If I brave the shave I’ll have both to contend with, but without that pesky demarcation line.
